• A statement by Signor Giovanni Agnelli, president of Fiat, at a recent news conference in Turin that he was "disappointed" with the four-year-old agreement between Fiat and Citroen, because the two companies held such widely differing views on many subjects, has heightened rumours in France of a complete break between the two concerns. M. Francois Michelin, whose tyre company has a 51 per cent interest in Citroen, is said to have told President Pompidou that he intends to break the link before July 1973.
