A COMMON gross weight limit of 34tons for all types of trailers which rely on overrun brakes will apply from January 1 1968. These provisions are contained in the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 1967 No. 1666 obtainable from HMSO, price 6d. But some exemptions are provided until January 1 1969.
Another provision is that it is no longer necessary for the unladen weight to be conspicuously marked on trailers fitted with overrun brakes.
