RICHARD MURPHY, 42, has been appointed Road Haulage Association campaign manager to organize the industry's protest against many of the provisions of the Government's White Paper on freight. He starts on Monday. Mr. Murphy has wide experience in journalism and was head of operations with a public relations consultancy, Robert Thorpe and Associates.

John F. C. Morris, 37, has been appointed Traders Road Transport Association London and Home Counties division secretary. He takes up his new post early in 1968, succeeding R. E.G. R. P. L. McMurtrie has been appointed managing director of Hills (Patents) Ltd.

Derek Hunt, 37, has been appointed to Fram Filters Ltd. board of directors. He will continue as general sales manager.

G. Hartshorn has been appointed Tri-Wall Containers Ltd. sales engineer and will work in South Wales and Gloucestershire.

A. K. Poison has been appointed Mexborough and Swinton Traction Co. Ltd. engineer with effect from January 1, in succession to G. K. Metcalfe, who has taken an appointment as Greenslades Tours Ltd. engineer. Mr. Poison is Northern General Transport Co. Ltd. technical assistant. Joseph Edward, managing director, British Motor Holdings Ltd., has been elected MIRA chairman. Mr. Edward succeeds Sir Donald Stokes.

Sir Reginald Wilson, chairman, THC, has been appointed an honorary member of the RHA. A. E. Pointon, H. Garratt-Adams, Mrs. P. E. Carter and Mrs. D. Emmerson have been appointed by the Minister of Transport to the Transport Users Consultative Committee for the West Midland area.

J. Love has been appointed to the Yorkshire area Transport Users Consultative Committee.

David Mackrill and P. E. Sheppard have joined the board of Sheppard Fabrications Ltd. Mr. Mackrill, 32, sales manager since 1963, continues with his present executive duties, as does Mr. Sheppard, 54, purchasing manager since 1962. David Game, 31, has taken over the duties of company secretary in addition to his position of chief accountant.
