CONCESSIONS FOR REMOVERS

AS the outcome of negotiations that have been proceeding between the Road Haulage Executive and the National Association of Furniture Warehousemen and Removers, substituted permits are not likely to be issued for the carriage of new furniture from manufacturers or wholesalers to retailers.

Permits, with a three-year duration, will, however, be generally issued to allow removers to do work that is not strictly a household removal, such as the carriage of antiques and odd lots to and from store and retailers.

The executive of the Association has accepted this formula and instructions are being circulated to members.
