father's firm Brian W Rowland Transport of Cheltenham, was buried at Elmstone Hardwicke in Gloucestershire on Saturday 20 July, following his death two weeks earlier on the Al2 in Essex.

Tom had worked for his father in the family business, but died at the age of 20 on Monday 8 July, after attending Truckfest South West over the weekend with his Scania, which won second place at the show.

An estimated 600 people attended the service, including many hauliers from the Gloucestershire region.

A gathering was later held at the Rowland family farm in the village with his father Brian, mother Jayne, sister Leanne and girlfriend Sian in attendance. Rowland's journey to the church was made on a new Volvo FH16.

Paul Lusty, owner of fellow Gloucestershire haulier We Move Bikes, said: "He always had a smile on his face and from a very young age was never happier than when he was with his dad in the truck. For a lad so young, the number of people who knew him, seems incredible. The family thanks everyone who attended and everyone who sent cards, flowers and messages, and those who have visited since the accident."
