successor to chief executive Peter Maybury (left), who is retiring. Mears is chief financial officer and has worked with Freightliner since its privatisation in 1996. Maybury joined Freightliner in 1997 as MD of the group's intermodal business, becoming chief executive in 2009.
Trg Logistics has appointed Sam Weller training manager, responsible for the management of all Driver CPC planning and training standards. Weller recently worked in Afghanistan for a large logistics company, supplying logistics provision to Nato forces. Germ UK has welcomed former Wincanton senior HR business partner John Smith as head of HR. Smith spent his early career in engineering/manufacturing.
