THREE hydraulically controlled Ampliroll units — fitted4to Volvo BM861 chassis — are being operated by Gleanaway Ltd to haul waste from Pitsea Wharf to a landfill site.
Domestic waste brought from London by barge is grab-loaded from the open barges and transferred into 50cuyd capacity containers.
The Ampliroll demountable body system is said to be proving idea( for this lift and load type of operation. All functions can be quickly and accurately controlled by the driver through two simple levers and hydraulic safety devices cut out the possibility of human error.
