Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

CITY of Nottingham Transport Department is taking delivery of 10 Duple Dominant Expressbodied Leyland Leopard PSU3C/4R chassis.

This order introduces a new variant of the Dominant coach body with less external stainless steel trim, no interior parcel racks, bus-type seating, hanging straps for standing and Treadmaster flooring. The forced ventilation system is omitted and top sliding windows fitted in lieu.

The vehicles, supplied by Kirkby Central Ltd, of Sheffield, bring the total of Leopard/ Dominants operated by Nottingham to 28, 18 coaches having been placed in service earlier in the year.

THE recent reduction in the number of vehicle manufacturers should facilitate greater standardisation of new buses—that is a conclusion of the International Union of Public Transport in a paper just published on its congress in Nice this May. It also advocates better co-ordination between operators and manufacturers in planning maintenance and vehicle replacement policies.

THE SERVICES run by 10 different small operators in the Rutland area now appear In one timetable, compiled and published by Leicester County Council.

A new design of timetable that includes route diagrams has also been published by City of Nottingham Transport.

TWO new service workshops offering a 24-hour breakdown emergency service and parts centre have been opened for MAN operators in Italy and Iraq. The address of the former is Milan F. LLI di Carlo and Ferrando, Via Ripamonti 234, I 20141 Milano. For operators in Iraq the address is H. Rolf H. Grossman, Masbah 1/37, Baghdad.

ONLY three dealers now have the franchise to distribute British Leyland coach chassis. Leyland, Bristol and AEC must now be obtained only through Yeates, Arlington or Kirkby. It is understood that the dealers had been pressing Leyland for such a rationalisation for some time.

THE free service operated in Worthing for pensioners has been so successful that it is being extended so that everyone can be taken into town on one day a week rather than, as at present, some people twice and others not at all.
