You know it makes sense, as they say. And so it does. A vehicle working in its peak condition is a vehicle working profitably.
But the law demands, under the Road Safety Act 1967, that your truck complies with standards laid down. This means testing and plating. Only those trucks in good running order will pass. And those that don't pass are put off the road and have to be re-tested.
Conditions laid down are stringent. Even a missing panel light bulb can mean failure. Serious defects can keep your vehicle off the road until they are put right. Can you be absolutely sure that your truck will pass? If it's a Leyland or Albion, and if it's well maintineci, you're pretty safe. Our standards of engineering see to that. But you must be sure, Your local Leyland-Albion distributor (a list is overleaf) has the equipment and know-how to see that you pass. He'll put your truck through a test programme that parallels MoT's. Any defects that would fail it are found and can be put right, usually on-the-spot.
