Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Tipper versions of two models in the Transit range have been introduced by the Ford Motor Co. These have been designed for municipal and general light-tipping work and are being built as complete vehicles at Ford's Langley plant. Two basic Edbro bodies are employed, a 1.5 cu.yd capacity on the 22 cwt Transit with 8ft 10in, wheelbase and a 2 cu.yd. body on the 9ft 10in. wheelbase 35 cwt chassis/cab. Both models incorporate a specially designed heavy-duty chassis frame with a reduced rear overhang and heavy-duty suspension with Aeon rubber suspension. The 22 cwt can be supplied with the Ford 1,700 c.c. petrol engine or Perkins 4.108 diesel while the 2,000 c.c. petrol-engine is fitted in the 35 cwt tipper.

Edbro single-ram, front-mounted electrohydraulic tipping gear is fitted to both designs. Angle of tip is 45de9 and the gear incorporates a safety cut-out which prevents the tipping mechanism from being operated when the vehicle ignition switch is on the "off" position.

The Edbro end-tipping bodies are of allsteel construction with a choice of fixed sides or single drop sides. Body dimensions of the 1,5 cu.yd. version are 6ft 61n. long, 5ft 9in. wide and lit 3in. deep, the body on the 2 cu.yd. measuring 8ft 0.5in. long, 6ft 3in. wide and 1 ft 3in. deep. There are fulllength sub-frames on both models.

Recommended retail prices of fixed-side models are: 22 cwt with petrol engine, £920; 22 cwt with diesel engine, £1,045 and 35 cwt petrol, £1,130. Prices of drop-side bo-, died models are £10 more in each case.
