I An application by Mr. J. L. Veitch, of larlington, to add a 10-ton artic. to his Aicence was granted after British Railways, he objector, was satisfied it would lose no raffle. The case was heard in Middlesbrough ni Tuesday by the Northern deputy LA, dr. J. A. Baldwin.
Mr. Veitch said he was a bulk transport pecialist and wanted to add the attic. to an ;xisting licence for four vehicles already :arrying for the ICI (Agricultural Division) Ad., Billingham.
Mr. P. E. Langdon, head of the commercial ransport division at ICI, Billingham, said his ;ompany supported the application. Arrange
ments had been made with BR for the transportation of goods to two particular destinations, one near Cambridge and the other near Southampton. The Billingham division had always received excellent service from BR and used it as often as possible. Mr. Langdon gave an assurance that if the application was granted it would not affect BR, as it was not supported with that intention.
Mr. Pattison said he accepted, on Mr. Langdon's assurance, that BR would not lose any traffic.
The deputy LA said he thought the case had been presented quite properly and granted the application.
