C. R. Buckley, director and general manager of Crosville Motor Services Ltd.. has been appointed a member of the executive board of the National Bus Company with effect from October 1. Mr. Buckley joined Crosville in 1929 and became district manager at Crewe in 1942 and district manager. Merseyside. in 1945. He became deputy traffic manager in 1957 and in the following year was made traffic manager of the Bristol group of companies. He returned to Crosville in 1965 as director and general manager.

W. M. Heynes, vice-chairman (engineering) of Jaguar Cars, having reached normal retirement age, relinquished his long association with the company yesterday. Bill Heynes joined S.S. Cars Ltd. Sollett commercial director. C. E. Benham, formerly of Scammell Lorries Ltd., joins as general sales manager. B. T. Warner has joined the headquarters staff of the National Freight Corporation as chief economic officer. He was formerly head of the transport and regional development division and of the industrial management division of the Metre Consulting Group.

Alan Havard has resigned from the National Freight Corporation -to follow other pursuits.Mr. Havard was editor of Commercial Motor from 1961 to 1967. before joining the Transport Holding Company as assistant director of freight planning, a post in which he has continued with the NFC. For some years he was national organizing secretary of the Lorry Driver of the Year Competition: he is still a member of the executive committee and has recently been nominated as national chairman.

Lester W. Wright has been appointed to the board of Vauxhall Motors Ltd. He joined Vauxhall last May and is responsible for quality control and reliability; Mr. Wright was previously director of

reliability at the Buick division of General Motors in the USA.
