Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Powell Duffryn Engineering Ltd, Cambrian House, Maindy, Cardiff, has recently delivered the first of five Di nopacke r demountable compaction units to Thomas Graveson (Disposal) Ltd. of Warton, Carnforth, Lancs.

The Dinopacker has an integral hydraulicallypowered packer plate which is able to compress up to 132 cu.yd. of light refuse into its enclosed body. It is mounted on a standard PD Dinosaur underframe.

The 38,000lb. packer is designed to give a compaction ratio of 4:1 and is operated on site through a mobile 440 volt power pack. To give a ram discharge facility at the tip, when the Dinopacker is mounted on the vehicle, the plate can be operated through the vehicle's built-in hydraulic system.

Graveson was finding that it was not able to accommodate the increase in waste from one of its customers fast enough with conventional containers. The introduction of a Dinopacker has meant fewer service visits to the factory, with sufficient capacity to cover the weekend when the factory is in production but the municipal tip is closed.

The price of the Dinopacker varies from £1,500 to £2,000, and delivery takes six weeks.
