Jobs lost as Powwow sinks

POWWOW WATER Company truck drivers and warehouse employees are facing redundancy after the company called in administrators.

A majority of the 360 staff at the Oxford-based spring water distributor that work across a bottling plant in Fillongley, North Warwickshire and nine DCs will be made redundant.

The company had been delivering to 50,000 UK customers and had an 0-licence for 178 vehicles.

Jonn Reid and Brian Mine of business advisory firm Deloitte were appointed joint administrators of Powwow Water Company on 25 March.

Reid says: "The company had been suffering severe cashf low problems. We intend to mothball the business while seeking a purchaser for the business and assets. Unfortunately, a majority of the 360 staff will be made redundant while we consider the options for the business."
