The EuroTech as tested is a full-blown long-distance cab with twin bunks and plenty of headroom: easily enough space for a six-footer, with a maximum internal height of 2.02m and a bunk length of 2.08m.
The Iveco's trim is very solid and attractive: the fabric looks hard-wearing and the mouldings are well up to passenger-car standards. This is a clear advance over last year's TurIxaech, which is more than can be said for the centre console. Once again it obstructs movement across the cab and makes access to the bunk awkward. You can step on to the console lid, and it seems pretty strong, but might not stand such use for long.
STORAGE
While the twin bunks are a good size changing space is a problem with the thicker top bunk down. Storage is at a premium too, with no hanging space available, but there are plenty of shelves and ledges for books and pens.
The top bunk is comfortable, with decent headroom and excellent lighting comprising a fixed light and a reading lamp on a stalk. The radio controls are distant, being mounted above the windscreen on the driver's side opposite the "head" end of the bunks. Our EuroTech was not fitted with a cab heater—they are currently optional, but on the forthcoming EuroStar it could be another matter.
The curtains (fitted round the cab and in front of the bunks) are functional and well-made; the bunk straps are as solid and well-finished as the rest of the fittings.
The EuroTech has a very roomy and attractive cab: with more attention paid to access and storage (or with just one bunk in use) it could be a winner.
