I presume that your contributor, Ron Douglas (CM, March 4) is writing about the distant past when he recounts his problems of obtaining a radiator repair in Scotland.

Marston Radiator Services Ltd, a subsidiary of Imperial Metal Industries Ltd, operates a nationwide network of radiator service stations. A lorry which has broken down, even at the northernmost tip of Scotland, is only just over 100 miles from our nearest service branch at Inverness, run by our Scottish company, Minerva Radiators (Scotland) Ltd. Every priority is given to commercial vehicle operators and normally we expect to have a vehicle, back on the road within 24 hours.

A temporary repair of this nature is possible, but should be looked on merely as a "get you home" measure, otherwise it simply delays the certainty of another breakdown which can occur at a more inconvenient time, thus incurring greater expense. F. J. WAKE, for Marston Radiator Services Ltd, Leicester.
