In a statement, AAL said the deal "strengthens AAL as one of the UK's leading independent providers of finance and leasing for new and used LGV trucks and trailers".
Total Reefer operates a fleet of more than 100 refrigerated trailers on a mix of longand short-term rental contracts. The purchase gives AAL a presence in the trailer market.
Paterson (pictured), the former head of Alliance & Leicester's commercial finance division, set up AAL in 2010.
