THERE ARE still slots available for operators wanting to buy a Euro-5 truck, but they should act now as the window of opportunity is closing fast.
Nigel Butler, commercial director at Renault Trucks UK, said the firm still has slots available, but with the new Euro-6 emission level due on 1 January 2014, the number of Euro-5 orders have been ramping up.
"We are rapidly approaching the point where we will be sold out of [Euro-5] build," warned Butler. "Customers who would like to take advantage of the remaining slots should contact
their local Renault Trucks dealer urgently."
Although there is no specific cut-off date for Euro-5, Butler said that "customers of specialist vehicles that normally require specific build have only a few days left to place orders" as standard lead times would indicate a December build slot.
Should customers find that Euro-5 build slots have run out, Butler added, then with 90% of the Euro-6 immediately available, Renault Trucks "almost certainly will be able to satisfy their demand".
