hadow Transport Secretary John Prescott has given a typically scathing reaction to Government plans to widen the M25.
Prescott believes traffic will expand to fill whatever space is available. On BBC Radio 4's Any Questions he claimed that if traffic growth meets the experts' predictions, it will require a North-South motorway 275 lanes wide. Don't laugh — with the Government's magpie approach to policy making we can expect a DTp announcement soon.
