The rear-engined chassis also uses the same G7-EGS seven-speed gearbox and rear axle, but the four-bag rear axle air suspension is uprated to cater for the weight of the F12 12litre engine, fitted longitudinally and vertically behind the rear axle. Current power options are 262/291kW (356/396hp) but a 302kW (405hp) engine will be offered when the EDC engines are phased in on the truck range early next year.
Volvo does not fit front disc brakes; it claims to get better braking performance from its second generation Z-cam brakes. ABS is optional and ADR traction control will be available when the EDC engines are introduced.
