• Job opportunities in the transport sector continue to decline, according to the latest figures from Manpower.
Although 17% of transport companies plan to take on staff in the final quarter of 1991, 11% will cut jobs: a balance of 6% compared with 13% for the final quarter of 1990.
Despite the gloomy predictions employment prospects in transport are better than industry as a whole, where the fourth quarter shows a balance of minus 3%. Manpower predicts a gradual improvement in job prospects.
