/ Two more companies have been taken over by the Transport Development Group.
John Russell of Grangemouth, part of TDG's transport division, has bought the assets of David Munro, a family-run haulage business based in Glenrothes, Fife whose main contract is with paper maker Tullis Russell. Most of Munro's 45 staff will be offered jobs.
Cox Eastern, of TDG's hire division, has acquired Newark Plant and Tool Hire from its managing director, David Moore, who will stay on as general manager to devlop business in Hull and Lincoln.
