Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I. manager s exam scheme

PROPOSALS for the implementation of the EEC's Directive on access to the road haulage profession by the DoE —exclusively revealed in .CM September 5—are to be discussed in Britain by the Educational Co-ordinating Committee on October 2. The committee—the successor to that set up to consider transport managers' licensing—has not met for more than a year. It is primarily concerned with the examination scheme which is a major part of the proposals.

The committee is made up of representatives from the three transport institutes, the two operator associations and the Road Transport Industry Training Board.

Another similar committee composed of passenger .operating interests is to meet on October 10 to consider DoE proposals for implementation of the EEC Directive on access to the road passenger industry.

Meanwhile, the National Guild of Transport Managers has expressed strong support for the DoE's proposals for a system affecting own-account and professional haulage managers alike. It says that it would he impossible to split them in any differential scheme. The Guild also hopes that the minimum weight threshold will be the same as for operators' licensing with the only exemptions being those currently allowed from 0 licensing.
