Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A WARNING about goods vehicle operators using substandard parts has been made by Seddon Atkinson to the Freight Transport Association During a regular liaison committee meeting company representatives revealed that four serious crashes had resulted from use of kingpin sets which were well below required specification, yet which were available through several spares outlets.

Defective pins, said the representative, could be identified by the lubrication grooves. In future the company was to mark its own parts in a way that was difficult to imitate. Efforts were being made to discourage pirate spares manufacture.

At the same meeting Seddon Atkinson representatives gave assurances that spares Mark II models would contil to be available for at lE seven years.
