Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ON MONDAY two new motorway service areas designed specifically for long-distance lorry drivers and coach parties are to be opened on M74 in Scotland. The northbound complex is at the Hamilton slip road, the southbound at the Bothwell slip road.

The proprietor, Galleon Roadchef, told CM that the complexes "have been sited to cater for long-distance drivers travelling on the Glasgow/London route and for those who leave M74 for the M73 and A80 travelling north." Lorry drivers will receive vouchers •to the value of 20p for every 10 gallons of Dery which they purchase for cash. The vouchers can then be used to purchase meals in the -120-seat cafeteria.

The vehicles parks can accommodate 50 hgv and 10 coaches. The intention is that vehicles can be left on the service area overnight and drivers will be transported to and from overnight accommodation of their choice in Hamilton, Motherwell and Glasgow. It is also intended eventually •to open the premises 24 hours a day.

The opening ceremony is to be performed by Mr John Mackie, of Scottish Telecommunications, who won the title of Scottish Lorry Driver of the Year when he competed in the CM-sponsored event on September 7.
