Refusing the application, Mr: Randolph said he was sorry he could not penalize Mr. Nutton for his discourtesy.
PETROL TANKER DRIVERS STAGE MORE STRIKES
A NOTHER lightning strike by petrol 171. tanker drivers in the London area was staged last Friday at three distribution centres in Fulham and Wandsworth. Altogether about 230 men stopped work •
over their recent pay claim—some were 'disgruntled that there had still been no settlement, and others were protesting' about the employers' offer of bs. 6c1. instead of 10s. a week..
Depots affected were those run by Shell-Mex and B.P., Ltd., at Wandsworth, the Esso Petroleum Co., Ltd., at Fulham, and the Regent Oil Co., Ltd., at Wandsworth.
Drivers and mates based at the Canvey Island depot of the Regent Oil Co., Ltd., staged a strike on Monday because they objected to working with five nonmembers of the Transport and General Workers' Union.
