• Specialist bodybuilder A Smith of Great Bentley near Colchester has bodied a 13-tonne Mercedes-Benz for its neighbour Hazfreight of Coggeshall to transport explosives and hazardous chemicals.
Built to ADR B3, TIR and Pet-Reg requirements, the 6.4m TPI GRP-panelled body has aluminium and stainlesssteel framework and is made to an exacting non-magnetic and anti-static design.
A Smith made its own recessed load-restraint system and fitted the 1,000kg Ratcliffe lift with protective two-pole wiring.
