Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LEX WILKINSON is to expand its nominated carrier scheme with Coventry agricultural tractor maker Massey Ferguson. Such contracts, while used widely by supermarkets, are rare in manufacturing and engineering, but Lex believes this could be the fastest growth area for large, flexible contractors.

The fleet of five articulated and two rigid lorries will treble in size as more MF suppliers come into the scheme next month.

Sixty suppliers, including GKN Sankey, Goodyear, Dana Spicer and Chloride will join the scheme, so that almost half the 1:90 million a year worth of components delivered to Coventry will arrive on Lex vehicles.

The traffic will come largely front other hauliers and carriers and partly from own-account Beets; MF did not run any lorries of its own.

The five-year agreement between Lex's Systemline division and MF started in April after MF had sought advice from several carriers.
