.1-1 A NEW servicing depot, designed by Wallis, Gilbert and Partners and built by Simms Sons and Cooke, Ltd.., has been opened by London Carriers. Ltd., at Beddington Lane, Croydon. London Carriers are the transport component of one of Britain's largest electrical concerns, the Philips Group of Companies.

The depot will handle the routine ser vicing of the majority of the commercial fleet, which is 450 strong, and of those cars which are based locally. It is under the control of Mr. B. W. Green.

A feature of the new premises is the 3-bay lubrication dock. Two of the bays are stressed to take 25-ton vehicles; the third will take up to 3 tons. Castrol lubrication equipment is used.
