MSESRS. P.ANHARD AND LEVASSOH, the well-known French commecial vehicle and touring car manufacturers are showing through their agents, W. and G. Du Gros, Ltd., of Acton 'Vale, London, W., two vehicles, one being a 30 cwt. hare chassis, the other a three ton delivery van. The 30 cwt. chassis which a fine example of French production, is fitted ;with a. four-eylindered menobloc engine having a bore and stroke of 80 mm. by 140 mm. respectively. The clutch is of the plate type, and it conveys the drive to a gearbox of the usual eliding gear type, which gives four speeds forward and a reverse_ The drive is then taken by a cardan shaft to the bevel-driven
back axle. The forward end of the propeller shaft i8 provided with an elastic universal joint. Both hand and foot brakes are of the external-expanding type operating on drums on the rear wheels. The wheels are of the Michelin type, with single front and twin rear pneumatic tyres of 880 mtn. by 120 ram. dimensions. The equipment of this chassis includes combined electric lighting and starting unit, all necessary wiring, set of accumulators fitted in the chassis frame, and a switchboard on the dash.
The well-known Panhard sleeve-valve engine is incorporated as the power unit on the three ton chassis. It has a bore and stroke of 85 mm. by 140 mm. respectively. The clutch is of the disc pattern,. and It conveys the drive to a four-speeee and-reverse gearbox, thence it is taken by a cardan shaft to the bevel-driven back axle.
As in the case of the smaller model, the wheels are of the Michelin type, fitted with singe front tyres and twin at the rear, their dimensions being 955 mm. by 156 rum. A seventh wheel is also carried as a spare.
A delivery van body is fitted to this particular' chassis, and it has front and rear entrances. Ample protection is afforded the driver by a welt-designed cab, a windscreen also protecting him from the elements. The wheels of this chassis are painted dark blue, the lower 'part of the body in bands of alternate light and dark blue, whilst the upper part of the body is in dark blue, with a light-blue oval medallion with a "P.L." monogram in gold.
