Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IN Two hauliers convicted of stealing £36,000 worth of steel have been jailed for 18 months at Leeds Crown Court.

David Hague, 27, of the Paddocks, Crowle, in Scunthorpe and Alan John Connell, 34, of Garthorpe Road, Luddington, also in Scunthorpe admitted two charges of theft.

They also admitted trying to obtain £4,200 by deception when attempting to auction a trailer which did not belong to them. Both men asked for another 11 theft offences to be considered.

Jonathan Devlin, prosecuting said the two men stole one lorry load of steel from Morley, and another load from near Doncaster. None of the steel had been recovered.

The two men had also used their own vehicles to collect steel as haulage contractors. They left false names and never delivered the steel to its destination.

In summing-up Judge Lightfoot told Hague and Connell, "It is sad to see two young men like you, who were building businesses, in the dock for what is in effect professional crime."
