LEYLAND has uprated its Leopard coach chassis to a maximum of 16 tons to enable it to take heavier coachwork with luxury fittings.
The 10 and 11-metre models remain at 11.25 tons gvw, but the optional high weight versions go up from 13 to 14 tons gvw, which has been achieved by offering new front springs rated at 5.5 tons instead of the standard 4.5 tons.
Rear springs have also been re-rated with an option of 8.5 tons compa ed with the standard 6.75 to$ls,on the standard models. Th previous heavy option was ight tons.
On the 1 -metre models the standard gross weight goes up to 15 tons fkom 13.5 tons, and this has been made possible by uprating the front spring from 5 tons to 6 tons and fitting a new rear spring with a 9-ton rear spring on 12-metre models.
