3RITISH lorry driver Cyril Clarke flew into London's Heathrow tirport last week after being released from a Czech jail where he as held after a conviction for careless driving.

Mr Clarke was involved in tn accident in which two tdults and two children died in Vlarch. He was sentenced to wo and a half years in prison.

A Foreign Office spokesman told CM this week that Mr Clarke had applied for expul-sion from Czechoslovakia — an option open to foreigners in jail — and had been duly expelled.

Mr Clarke said that in prison he worked at packing papers publicising the programmes of Radio Prague. He had been paid for his work but had to pay for his keep.
