of fog lamps below the front bumper of commercial vehicles. I have been told it is illegal if the clearance height is less than 18in. How high from the road do such lights have to be?
A There is nothing in regulations regarding rm the minimum height at which fog lamps may be fitted. The only height restriction on fitting applies to obligatory headlamps, whose centres must be not less than 2ft and not more than 3ft 6in from the ground. Any auxiliary lamp which has its centre less than 2ft from the ground may only be used in fog or when snow is falling.
