Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ANEW publication of Shaw and Sons, Ltd., 7 Fetter Lane, London, E.C.4, "The Law, of Road Traffic," by M. R. R. Davies, can be classed as a successful attempt to produce a handbook which both the lawyer and the layman can pick up with equal chances of enlightenment, writes The Commercial Motor legal correspondent.

A high proportion of road traffic law is buried' in clumsily framed Acts and abstruse regulations which seem to become amended endlessly without becoming easier to understand. Prof. Goodhart, the jurist, points out in a foreword to the book that the major problem is to produce a logical arrangement for such a publication, In this regard the author has been strikingly successful, The layout of the text and the distinctive type headings make the search for information easy.

There is a full index, and in an appendix is a summary of the law's demands of road users as set out in the new Highway Code. The book can be recommended to all whose business involves a working knowledge of road traffic law.

Price of the publication is El 10s. n27
