Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

To explain the intention behind new Institute of Freight Forwarders trading conditions, and the procedures customers should adopt as a result of the changes, the Freight Transport Association has organised a workshop to be held in London on July 12.

The new conditions are much longer than the old and they require customers to exercise positive choices. There are undertakings by both customer and forwarder which must be understood and complied with.

The new conditions make it possible to determine whether the forwarder acted as agent or principal with the emphasis being on the principal role, which applies where consolidation or grou page work is undertaken.

Of great interest to the customer is the forwarder's clear acceptance of responsibility for his actions and increased liabil ity of 2SDRs (approximately £1.50) per kg.

The workshop will be of interest to manufacturers, traders, insurers and all connected with forwarding activities. Experts will present papers on the legal, practical and insurance implications of each clause. There will be ample time for questions and discussion.

Workshop fee is £65 plus vat per delegate for FTA members, and £75 plus vat for non-members. Interested organisations should contact the Association's education and training department on 0892 883688.
