NATIONAL FREIGHT non-executive director Victor Paige has become non-executive chairman of lveco UK, the Fiat-owned commercial vehicle importer.

Mr Paige, who was previously an NFC deputy chairman and is chairman of the Port of London Authority, succeeds the late Giovani Brasca.
Giorgio Garuzzo is assuming the responsibilities of managing director of lveco worldwide. Giorgio Manina, who has relinquished his duties as managing director, remains as chairman of Iveco's Italian branch.
Sig Garuzzo has been joint general manager of Fiat's industrial activities since December 1982. The head of Fiat Tractors, Gian Carlo Vezzalini takes over that role.
lveco accounts for about 20 per cent of Fiat's sales and has manufacturing plants in Italy, France and West Germany. All have been incurring losses. Last year, the division's turnover is believed to have fallen by 10 per cent to L4,483 bn (11 .9bn).
