)ENNISON'S first 8 x 4 tipter has been built at the ompany's Rathcoole plant tear Dublin.

The unladen vehicle veights 12.5 tons (with )ody) and is powered by a 3ardner 8LXB engine.

ardner 6LXB and Rolls Royce 220 and 265L diesels ire offered as options.

Other major units have peen supplied by outside nanufacturers, clutch by Lipe Rollway, gearbox by Eaton, front axle by Kirkstall, and rear bogie by Eaton. Although designed to be plated at 32 tons _gvw the vehicle is restricted by Irish regulations to 28 tons.

Production at present is running at two vehicles per week and is intended mainly for Irish use, although the company is prepared to sell models in Britain.

A spokesman told CM that production could rise to five per week, but no further, meantime, as Dennison is keen to maintain a satisfactory after-sales service.
