BUS DEPOT IN RAILWAY SHEDS

FOLLOWING British Transport Commission railway reorganization at Manchester. the North Western Road Car. Co.. Ltd., Stockport. are applying to convert a railway goods depot into a garage for 130 buses. and to install maintenance facilities. The proposed site is in arches under Central Station. which is opposite the company's present Mosley Street depot. Planning permission is being,sought from Manchester Corporation.

At present, North Western's garage accommodation is three quarters of a mile from Mosley Street, at Hulme. Ribble Motor Services, Ltd., Preston, an associated company, who have similar difficulties, may share the new depot.
