Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The first low-height Scania R113 MW tractive units in the UK have gone into service with two East Anglian operators.

Spalding Haulage of Spalding, Lincs and HC Wilson of Elmswell, near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, have bought the vehicles to maximise the cube of their semi-trailers.

The two-axle, 260kW (354hp) R113-360 tractors have a fifth wheel height of 1,030mm, compared with 1,220mm on a standard Scania R113.

Both vehicles are left-hand drive. Although this model is type approved Scania is waiting to see if demand is sufficient before introducing a righthooker version in the UK.

Spalding says a 94m3 triaxle reefer semi-trailer from Dutch manufacturer Lamboo, launched at the Amsterdam Show, gives it a 69,6 increase in volume.

The 3.6m-wheelbase tractor has a 150mm drop centre front axle and runs on low profile tyres to achieve the lower chassis height.

To get round the problem of the ground clearance required for RO-RO ferry operation changes have been made to the routeing of the exhaust system and the fuel tank has been mounted higher.
