Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Bus stands on TV

A NEW bus station at the Chatham Pentagon town centre development comes into use on Sunday. The new centre has closed circuit television to monitor bus stands and allow the controller to see the movement of traffic.

The new centre will also have communications with drivers of radio-equipped buses and telephone links for passenger inquiries.

More LT revenue

NEW FARE scales on LT buses are to be recommended to come into operation a month earlier than was originally thought.

The new fares will now come in on June 20 and not July 18 and the earlier date is expected to put £1.5m towards decreasing the shortfall in revenue expected by LT. New fare scales on the Underground will still come in on July 18.

PTE's policies hopeless'

GLASGOW PTE is failing to adapt to face economic difficulties, says the TGWU's Glasgow passenger transport committee.

Meeting to discuss cuts that the PTE intends making, the bus crews suggested that the PTE should diversify into profitable enterprises such as hotels, filling stations, and private hire operations.

On the boards

A WORKING party of London Transport Executive and the Trade Union representatives should be set up to examine the development of employee participation at all levels within London Transport. This decision was made at a meeting between Mr Jim Daly, chairman of the GLC transport committee, Mr Kenneth Robinson, chairman of London Transport, and the unions.

The working party will also make recommendations to the GLC on the question of parttime worker representation at Board level.
