Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Increased payload capacity for steel-bodied, bulk-feed vehicles has been achieved by N. Tamplin and Co Ltd, Chichester, with its latest bulk transporter, equipped with pneumatic discharge and tipping gear, which will take a 10-ton payload.

Fitted to a Seddon 13:4 chassis, overall weight is 5 tons 15cwt 2qr, including spare wheel, took kit, ridge pole and tilt, spill boards, discharge hoses and five gallons of fuel.

Weight has been saved by using tubular steel runners beneath the tipping body in place of the more conventional heavy rolled section. Other weight saving features are featherwing plastics mudguards and tubeless tyres. Alloy has only been used for the flat panelling of the tailgate and spillboards.

Edbro 4LNCS single-ram tipping gear is used and ancillary equipment comprises a shaft-driven Godfrey F. 420 blower, cross-feed auger and rotary valve.
