Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

UNDER a contract which came into effect at the beginning of this month, British Road Services Ltd. is to deal with the total output of the five National Coal Board brickworks in the West Midlands. The NCB is one of the largest producers of building bricks in the UK.

Under the contract between BRS and the NCB Brickworks Executive an initial fleet of 17 tractive units, 33 semi-trailers and four rigid four-wheelers is being provided in the brickworks' own brown and white livery; these are being supple

mented by BRS general haulage vehicles and private hauliers under BRS supervision. An estimated total of Lm. bricks may he cleared each week.

The co-ordination of all BRS and private vehicles operating from the West Midland works is the responsibility of a BRS traffic supervisor who has been installed at Hilton Main brickworks, while the whole operation is being controlled by the manager of Wolverhampton contracts branch.

BRS say that a similar rationalization of road haulage arrangements may be made soon by the Brickworks Executive in the Midlands and in the Northern and Scottish regions.
