THE Western Licensing Authority announced this week that special A licences had been granted to Messrs. R. and W. Febry, Chipping Sodbury, for eight vehicles (39 tons 2 cwt.). Their purchase of a transport unit was announced in The Commercial Motor on February 12. Mr. E. R. Crew, Wyndham, Trudoxhill, Frorne, has also been granted special A licences for three vehicles (8 tons 16 cwt.).

Moore's Motors (Ayr), Ltd., 10 Alloway Street, Ayr, have now acquired 10 vehicles of 6-10-ton payload capacity from British Road Services and are to specialize in long-distance work as before nationalization.

Milhench and Coulthard, Ltd., Dee Walk, Kirkcudbright, have been registered this week with a capital of £10,000. The directors are J. A. Coulthard and H. Milhench. As reported on page 192, they have bought the Kirkcudbright depot of B.R.S.

D. M. Smith (Transport), Ltd., 186 Stewarton Street, Wishaw, who, as announced in The Commercial Motor on March 5, have bought the B.R.S. unit based at that address, have been registered with a capital of £20.000. The directors are D. M. Smith. Elizabeth E. Smith and D. D. Smith.
