The Institute for Transport Administration (loTA) is a multimodal professional body, and is in the process of reinventing itself with a new corporate image and clearly stated key messages, Director David Dalglish says loTA "had become a bit of a gentleman's club" and his role is to reinvigorate it. "Our mission is education," he says. "We ensure people are trained and professionally competent for the job at hand." He adds that loTA is "getting back to what it is supposed to be about".
loTA represents more than 4,000 individuals and firms, including pilots, transport lawyers, road transport operators and coach, bus, lorry, van and train drivers, and masters of vessels. As well as according titles to its members from student to fellowship as professional recognition, it offers them education,
