Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport UK (CILT UK) is a professional body affiliated to CILT International. It represents individuals within the transport and logistics sector, mainly by offering education, training, qualifications and mentoring.

CILT is determined to reach members in all sectors of employment and to shake off the myth that it is an organisation for upper-tier employees. "We now have a professional drivers' grade, and we are recruiting at all levels." says Steve Agg, One reason for this is that CILT is worried about the skills shortage facing logistics. It wants to make the industry more attractive as an occupation across the board; Agg says: "Ours is one of the few industries where you can come through the ranks from being an entrepreneur with a single truck to run a large successful organisation. Our remit is to help everyone be the best they can: no one should be denied that opportunity. If you want to be the best professional driver or the best boss of a FTSE 200 company, we will help you."

Agg is concerned that logistics professionals "do not stand as tall as [those] in other professions such as engineers, doctors and lawyers. Yet we provide an essential service to the economy. CILT is about raising standards and raising the profile of the profession.' Contact: www.cittuk.org.uk or 01536 740107
