ANITA EMERSON, a warehouse operations manager for Knights of Old, was named woman of the year at the MAN everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards last week.
The inaugural awards are designed to raise the profile of the industry among women.
Maxine Benson, cofounder and director of everywoman, says logistics and
transport make up the fifth-largest industry sector in the UK, but only 23% of its employees are women a figure that is expected to rise to 30% by 2014. However, this will still be well below the average of 47%.
