I felt I had to write to say that i am not in the least bit surprised that 30% of hauliers have completed the new selfassessment tax Forms incorrectly (CM 5-11 June), Have you seen this form? Too many boxes and too many questions.
I urge hauliers to follow the advice of Mr Hawkes and consult expert advice if they find the process too taxing! My local tax office was extremely helpful to me and took time to explain the ins and outs of the form completely.
Time spent wisely now will ensure that a panic to correct mistakes before the deadline at the end of January will not occur. D Jameson, Falkirk.
