• An easy-change kingpin for fifth-wheel couplings has been added to the range of trailer equipment made and marketed by Intertruck Ltd, Dewlands Industrial Estate, Dartford, Kent. This new design fitted beneath the front-end of semi-trailers by eight instantly accessible bolts, is intended for operators who require alternative kingpin positions.

The Intertruck kingpin is a forging of 65-ton steel, with an integral 8in. (203mm) dia mounting flange, On. (9.5mm) thick. It is held by eight high-tensile, hexagon-head setscrews, ;in. dia, which are screwed into the tapped holes of a forged dish. I lin. (280mm) dia and lin. (12.7mm) thick, which is inset into the rubbing plate beneath the trailer and welded in position.

The recommended list price of the adaptor dish is £5. The kingpin itself carries a recommended price of £10.
