• Prizes totalling £800 are offered by leading companies in the motor industry in a road safety design competition announced by the Design and Components in Engineering journal.
The largest prize-£200---comes from Armstrong Patents Co Ltd, Girling Ltd, and Woodhead Manufacturing Co for "the most practical innovation for improving roadholding of any vehicle having a suspension system embodying hydraulic shock absorbers".
Closing date for entries is September 30 and details can be obtained from the Design journal, 22 Greville St, London EC1.
